Specialist psychiatric care for adults across Canterbury
Why see a psychiatrist?

A medical specialist
for the mind

A psychiatrist is a medical doctor who has completed at least thirteen years of training — a medical degree, followed by many years of specialist training in mental health. That depth matters when things are complex, longstanding, or haven't shifted with the support you've had so far.

Meet Dr Lin

Dr Allie Lin

Dr Alanah "Allie" Lin is a consultant psychiatrist who trained in the public sector, with a focus on general adult psychiatry. She has a particular interest in difficult-to-treat depression, ADHD, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and trauma. She also has a special interest in the role circadian rhythms play in mood disorders.

Above all, Dr Lin believes that good care starts with listening and understanding you as a person, and then ensuring you remain in control of your recovery while she provides expert advice.

How to get started

We do request a GP or psychologist referral before you get booked in. This means we have a clear understanding of how we can help before you come and see us and that we are the best health professionals to meet your needs. If there are significant barriers to obtaining a referral prior please contact our clinic by email.
