Consultant Psychiatrists

Dr Allie Lin

MBChB, Fellow of Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Psychiatrists

Dr Lin is a consultant psychiatrist who completed her training in the public sector, specialising in general adult psychiatry. Her interests include depression, bipolar disorder, psychotic disorders, trauma related presentations, as well as ADHD. She is trained in IPSRT (a type of therapy) and has a passion for addressing circadian rhythm disturbance in mood disorders.

Why see a psychiatrist?

Psychiatrists are specialist doctors with a minimum of 13 years of training. General medical knowledge forms the foundation of their training with further experience seeing a wide range of complex mental disorders consolidating their role as an expert in mental health. Psychiatrists are uniquely placed to look at all aspects of your mental health, and provide a holistic and informed treatment plan that can help you through your mental health difficulties.

Psychiatrists can offer assessment, therapy, lifestyle support, as well as medication treatment.

Referrals and Bookings

We see patients between 18 and 70. We do require either a GP or clinical psychologist referral for all initial appointments. This is to ensure that we have a holistic understanding of your needs and so that there is a seamless transition back to your GP or psychologist when you no longer require our services! Once your provider has made a referral, we will email you with further instructions on how to book and what you need to do prior to ensure you get the most out of the appointment.

General Psychiatric Consultation

60 to 90 minutes for an initial consultation, 30 to 45 minutes for follow-ups

ADHD Assessments

90 minutes for an initial consultation, and 30 minutes for follow-up. In rarer circumstances with complex histories, further general appointments may be required. An assessment does not necessarily result in a diagnosis.
